As you’re looking to prepare for your Easter meal, a lot of questions may come to mind: What am I going to cook this year? What decorations do I need? Do I need activities for guests to enjoy? Where do I start? This year, we’re sharing the best tips for creating the perfect Easter dinner so you’re ready to take on the Easter holiday with ease. Let’s get started!

Create the mood.

Setting a beautiful table sets the perfect tone for your Easter meal. Before buying new decorations, start by identifying pieces around the house that you can recycle for Easter dinner! Mason jars or old perfume bottles can hold flowers or other decorations, and old, vintage candlesticks topped with eggs make for a “hoppy” decorative piece! Lastly, for dining ware, think about layering your display with festive pieces, like a quilted table cloth with festive spring colors, floral wreaths under your plates, or homemade bunny napkins for a finishing touch. Now you have a beautiful setting as the foundation for your dinner!

Simplify your meal.

Planning Easter dinner takes time, effort, and hard work, sometimes more than we may have during a busy weekend. Bob Evans’ variety of meal options means less prep time and more family time, perfect for any sized gathering. This year, try one of Bob Evans Farmhouse Feasts, which are packed cold for you to heat and serve. The Farmhouse Feasts, which come in different sizes to serve 10, eight or four people, can be ordered online or by visiting or calling any Bob Evans location.

This Easter, make your Farmhouse Feast even more memorable with a few delicious add-ons. New this year is our Side Lover’s Bundle, featuring extra servings of creamy mac & cheese and our signature mashed potatoes with gravy—perfect for the side dish enthusiasts at your table. Want to make sure there’s plenty of the main event to go around? You can also add extra portions of slow-roasted turkey or hickory-smoked ham. And don’t forget extra dessert—choose from our indulgent whole Turtle Cheesecake Pie or a classic Double Crust Apple Pie to end your Easter meal on a sweet note. However you celebrate, we’re here to make it easier (and tastier) than ever to spend more time with loved ones and less time in the kitchen.

Looking to dine-in or carryout this Easter? We’re open! Guests can choose from an array of farm-fresh meal options, including our Easter Celebration Platter or our hot Easter Celebration Family Meal that feeds 6 people.

Get crafty.

Easter dinner is more fun with activities for everyone to enjoy – they’re great for family bonding or keeping younger family members entertained. Two ideas include Easter egg balloons and Easter egg buddies. For the balloons, grab craft paint and have each family member paint their favorite Easter egg design on their blown-up balloon. Then, tape or tie your string around the balloon for a festive décor piece or use them as an alternative name place setting on each dining chair. Creating Easter egg buddies is another simple option and challenges every family member to bring a little creativity to the table – ideas for your Easter meal buddy can be found here.
