How to Stay Connected During Social Distancing
We can still break bread with our friends and families while practicing social distancing. Let’s call it “physical” distancing rather than social distancing. We are digitally connected on a global scale and can use these digital and virtual platforms to stay connected during this time. Bob Evans is encouraging our guests to send a Homestyle Hug, and send a comforting meal to family members when you can’t physically cook for each other.
We’ve rounded up some of the top platforms you can use to connect with family loved ones during your next meal:

Traditional Phone Call
Hearing someone’s voice can be very powerful. Imagine sending a loved one who has a spring birthday a carryout dessert, and then calling to sing “Happy Birthday.”
Video Chat
Let the hilarious screen shots pour in as we attempt to eat our next meals with our friends and family virtually! For those with Apple devices, you can use FaceTime with video. Google Duo is a version for Android users.
Skype
Up to 10 people can join in on a Skype call at one time, so do not cancel the dinner party – just move it online. You could coordinate and order the same takeout or have everyone order different items from the menu and share reviews. Added bonus: you can watch while they eat to make sure they give honest feedback.
Google Hangouts
Get together online and find out a loved one’s favorite dish from a favorite restaurant. Then you can have it delivered to them. Taking part in a Google Hangout can help you learn something new about them that you didn’t realize before, like they hate pickles or prefer mustard over ketchup.

Just because we’re being asked to stay home and stay safe, we don’t have to eat alone. Call or video chat with your friends and families and get a hot Family Meal delivered to your doorstep, or send a loved one a Homestyle Hug, so you can be there from anywhere.
