1. How big is the world’s largest pumpkin? (It’s bigger than you think!)

The title of World’s Largest Pumpkin was claimed in 2021 by Stefano Cutrupi, who grew a gargantuan gourd that weighed in at 2703 pounds – 300 pounds heavier than the previous record-holder.

2. How many different types of pumpkin are there?

The beautifully orange pumpkin has more than 45 different types! Many of them have fun names, such as Baby Bear, Spooktacular, Ghost Rider, Tricky Jack, and Sweetie Pie. Each type varies in color and size, some being a deeper orange and large, while other are lighter in color and smaller.

3. When is the best time of the year to plant pumpkins?

Farmers generally plant pumpkins in early July! This is because pumpkins require soil that holds water well and they suffer if there’s a lack of water or unusually chilly temperatures.Extra Fun Fact: Pumpkins are extremely resilient and can even regrow damaged vines if necessary!

4. What’s the world’s oldest pumpkin bread recipe?
